Even the most efficient light sources would be useless without high-quality reflectors.

Our tailored reflectors are designed to accommodate the wide range of photometric needs, making all applications—from the very specific to the very general—equally successful. But, superior function doesn’t come at the price of aesthetics. Any reflective finish can be incorporated into a tailored reflector for maximum visual appeal.

Reflectors play an extremely important role in the functionality of LED Lights. LEDs have been on the market for awhile now and offer many of the aesthetic and performance advantages of halogen lamps, while also providing even higher energy efficiency levels and longer lifetimes. Some LEDs now last for 50,000 hours or more. Before the transition to LEDs, everyone in the lighting industry understood the importance of reflectors. The conventional wisdom was that as the industry transitioned to LEDs, the need for reflectors would dramatically decrease. Over the last several years, this theory has proven to be wrong. In fact, reflectors are even more important with LEDs than before.

Reflectors boost lighting efficiency.

Reflectors have a fundamental effect on light output, lamp & ballast life, and the overall effectiveness.  Each and every light fixture requires a unique reflector that is designed to guide the light to the appropriate angle. Ensuring that the light is shaped correctly or helping maintain a specific wavelength of the light for special applications. Using reflective materials reduces the energy requirements of your lighting so that they don't have to work as hard. Simply put, you receive more energy output. Additionally, reflectors play an important role in dispersing heat so that a fixture does not become overheated.

When it comes to making the best use of available space, tailored reflectors are a great choice. A new fixture can be designed to accommodate the needs of the space, but efficient design options also allow for fitting existing fixtures with tailored reflectors. In fact, attachment points in existing fixtures might even be able to be used to locate the tailored reflector.

Choosing the right material.

Reflectors can be made using different materials. Aluminum is more commonly used and is a very effective choice. There are vast options for optical properties (total reflectivity), image clarity, grain direction, strength of material, as well as finish of the material (specular, semi-specular, diffuse and hammer tone), ultimately depending on how you want the material to function.

Tailored reflectors can be manufactured in a number of ways. Techniques like laser cutting, turret punching, and die stamping all carry different costs that, of course, factor into the budget. However, it’s important to remember that the ability to match the manufacturing method to the design complexity, initial lead-time, and projected usage makes tailored reflectors cost-effective for projects of any size.
